Fragments of a Street

Flaneur is a nomadic, young independent magazine focussing on one street per issue. The magazine embraces the street’s complexity, its layers and fragmented nature with a literary approach. Based on multidisciplinary collaborations with artists, the magazine turns a local microcosm into universal stories. The reader is challenged to become a Flaneur himself, wandering the pages of the magazine as if discovering the street. The magazine is consumed like a good book that both local and international readers can relate to.

»…AND SO ONE DOESN’T GET THE IMPRESSION TO BE HOLDING A MAGAZINE IN ONE’S HAND BUT RATHER A LITERARY URBAN CHRONOLOGY THAT, WITH ITS INDEFINITE SELL-BY-DATE, REMOVES ITSELF FROM OTHER CONVENTIONAL FORMATS. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A COSMOPOLITAN, BOUNDARY BLASTING APPROACH.«
(FAZ)

»IN A TIME WHERE EVERYTHING IS SHORTER-LIVED AND THE FOCUS IS SET ON CONSTANT LIVE UPDATES, APPEARS A MAGAZINE, THAT HAS OBVIOUSLY HAD A LOT OF TIME TO COME ABOUT. IT PROVOKES REACTIONS BY BEING INTELLECTUALLY AND VISUALLY THOUGHTFUL. APPARENTLY THE CONCEPT OF FLANEUR MAGAZINE HAS REALLY HIT A NERVE.«
(DIE WELT)

»I THINK IT’S BRILLIANT, BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED, IT’S A GOOD READ. SO MUCH CONTENT THERE. BLOWN AWAY BY IT.«
(MONOCLE RADIO)

»THIS IS, AFTER ALL, A MAGAZINE THAT DOESN’T ONLY TRY TO DIG BENEATH THE SURFACE: IT ALSO SEEMS INTERESTED IN ACTUALLY TEARING APART THE STREET’S SPACE-TIME CONTINUUM, FLITTING FROM PAST TO PRESENT AND EVEN, SOMETIMES, INTO THE FUTURE.«
